About Alamance POP
What's going on around here?
Alamance POP is an independent guide to events, live music, places, things to do, and local businesses in Alamance County, North Carolina, plus a few spots just down the road that are worth the drive.

Why it's here
The good stuff is easy to miss
Around here, a band's Friday show lives on its Facebook page. The church barbecue is on a sign by the road. The farmers market posts its hours on Instagram, the town festival sits on a city calendar, and the best yard sale of the year travels by word of mouth.
Alamance POP pulls those pieces into one place: something to check on a Thursday night, a Saturday morning, or whenever somebody asks what's going on.
If it's open to the public and it's happening in Alamance County, it belongs here.
That means not just festivals and concerts, but also all the small things that rarely make it online like a fire department fundraiser, a bluegrass jam at a country store, a civic club's pancake breakfast, a neighborhood cleanup, or a new shop opening downtown.

The name
Why “POP”?
POP stands for Places, Outings, People: the three things that make a county feel like home. It’s also what good things around here tend to do — they pop up. A market in a parking lot, a band you hadn’t heard of, a new spot on Main Street. This is where you catch them.
Who's behind it
Made by a neighbor
Alamance POP was created by a lifetime Alamance County resident who wanted a better way to find local events, businesses, and things to do without searching through dozens of Facebook pages, calendars, and websites.
It's run the way a good community paper is: every submitted event is reviewed by a person, and corrections are always welcome at hello@alamancepop.com.
